Established in 2007 through a collaborative initiative with the Government of Jharkhand, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Off-Campus Deoghar, has been a vital center of academic excellence and technical innovation. The department offers a comprehensive four-year undergraduate programme, structured across eight semesters, with a curriculum designed to provide a solid theoretical foundation while equipping students with the practical skills essential for mastering and advancing new and emerging technologies.
The department is driven by a highly qualified and committed faculty team that fosters a culture of excellence in teaching and encourages innovative, interdisciplinary research. Areas of research expertise include microgrid operation and control, power system protection and reliability, application of power electronics, inverter design, nonlinear system control, self-driving vehicles, image processing, and machine learning.

Emphasizing the practical application of advanced technologies, the department's laboratories are well-equipped to provide students with hands-on experience and support for applied research.
