Research Experience

Worked as a Research Scientist B at DST - Mahamana Centre of Excellence in Climate Change Research (MCECCR) Institute of Environment & Sustainable Development Banaras Hindu University Varanasi - 221005, U.P., India.

  • The roles and responsibilities mainly included exploring the benefits of A.I. in the areas of Climate Change.
  • Management of the High-Performance Computing infrastructure for climate modelling and weather forecasting and their efficient analytics as a part of National Supercomputing Mission.

Worked as a Research Associate in a project funded by the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) entitled "Hyperspectral Imaging for sharper definitions of Himalayan Ecosystems and its high-value plant species under climate uncertainties".

  • The roles and responsibilities mainly included efficient analytics of hyperspectral big data in developing new programming models through the use of artificial intelligence techniques that scale well at the hyperdimensional level.
  • Development of models for the identification and mapping of Himalayan species using European and NASA Satellite data sets for probabilistic prediction of their occurrences.
  • Establishing the relation between physical and climatic variables to estimate the probability distribution of species using several machine learning algorithms.
  • Classification of the Himalayan species through collected spectra and other hyperspectral data.
  • Other roles and responsibilities include project and financial management of the project. The training and grooming of the new resources as a part of knowledge transition and architecting the project's progress is carried out. The Preparation of Annual Project Report, Statement of Expenditure and Utilization Certificate is also conducted as a part of the project.
  • Part of the expedition group for carrying out extensive field sampling in the Himalayan glaciers.
  • Aerial Mapping of medicinally and economically plant species using UAV facility is conducted over the complex topography of the Himalayas.
  • As a part of incubating the idea of bringing the benefits of the technology to the public, developing a state-of-the-art application that will provide the spectral signatures of the Himalayan species for mapping and monitoring the application through hyperspectral datasets. This is a part of the National Mission of Himalayan Studies.
  • Development of a cloud-based platform to be used by the end-users for real-time monitoring of biophysical parameters. This again is a part of the National Mission of Himalayan Studies.
