Appointment for the post of Senior Security Supervisor and Junior Security Supervisor (on contract) at B.I.T. Mesra

  (i)   Graduation with sufficient knowledge of office related software.

  (ii)   Should have held a position at JCO level and above from Indian Army / Navy / Air Force.
  (iii)  Only those fulfilling required minimum eligibility criteria and possessing a minimum of 5 years’ experience at senior level of JCO     
         (Subedar/Subedar Major) / equivalent and without any blemishes in post JCO/equivalent services will be considered for the Senior 
          Security Supervisor position.


(i) Persons with strong familiarity with computers, experience in educational or large organizations and with good interpersonal skills will be

(ii) Having a pleasant personality and proven experience in dealing with staff at different level or public unrest and experience in dealing with
     civil administration is desirable.

(iii) Those with practical knowledge of law and / liaisoning with administration / police authorities will be preferred.

Job responsibilities:

(i) Over all responsibility / supervision & monitoring of the Security Unit,

(ii) Implementation and follow-up action on security related policy matters,

(iii) Other, as may be assigned by the authorities of the Institute from time to time,

(iv) Liaisoning with the Institute & Police authorities/ Civil Administration,

(v) To handle the outsourced Security Agency and

(vi) To assist the Institute Authorities in maintaining law & order in the campus.

Age:  40 - 50 Years will be preferred.




  1. Before applying for the post, candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils the minimum eligibility and other criteria mentioned in this job notification. Institute will be free to reject any application, if the candidate is found ineligible for the post for which he/she has applied at any stage of the selection process. No correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
  2. Incomplete applications, or applications received after the due date are liable to be rejected summarily.
  3. The prescribed qualification / experience is the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle a candidate for shortlisting and / or final selection. Candidates will be shortlisted based on the relevance and quality of experience vis-a-vis the requirements of the advertised role. The Institute’s decision shall be final in this regard.
  4. Only shortlisted candidates who are found prima facie eligible based on the details given in the application will be called for the written test and / or personal interview as the case may be.
  5. Candidature of the applicant is liable to be rejected at any stage of the selection process or after selection or joining, if any information provided by the candidate is found to be false or is not found in conformity with eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.
  6.  The Institute reserves the right to relax age in case of candidates with longer years of experience/ in case of exceptionally qualified or experienced candidates.
  7. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill all or any of the advertised positions without assigning any reason whatsoever.
  8. Any canvassing directly or indirectly by the applicant will disqualify his/her candidature. Any dispute with regard to the selection process against this Internal job notification will be settled within the jurisdiction of the Court / Tribunal over Ranchi only.
  9. The number of vacancies is indicative. The Institute reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies purely on need basis at any point of time.
  10. The location/ place of posting mentioned are indicative, selected candidate shall be required to work in any campus of the Institute.
  11. In respect of exceptionally qualified and experienced candidates the minimum overall years of experience as prescribed, may be relaxed at the sole discretion of the Institute.
  12. All qualifications, where applicable, should be from AICTE / UGC recognized / affiliated institutes / colleges / universities. Candidates. In the event where the qualification acquired is not found to be recognized by AICTE/UGC post selection, the appointment shall be terminated without further notice.
  13. The job description mentioned above is only indicative. It may vary based on the requirement of the Institute and discretion of the Institute.

  15. Filled in downloaded applications should be accompanied with a non-refundable demand draft of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five hundred only) for candidates belonging to SC/ST and for candidates belonging to other categories a non-refundable demand draft of Rs.1000/- (Rupees One thousand only) drawn in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology” payable at Ranchi towards application fee. Candidates are advised to write their name and post applied for on the backside of the demand draft.
  16. The filled-in downloaded application form along with enclosures and demand draft must be sent in a sealed envelope by speed/registered post to The Registrar, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi - 835215, Jharkhand so as to reach on or before the last date for submission of application i.e. 31ST July 2018Please superscribe the envelope with the post applied for and advertisement number.

  3. Attested copies of all certificates, mark sheets from SSC/HSC/Matriculation onwards
