In addition to the minimum educational qualification or equivalent as prescribed for various courses, a candidate seeking admission under direct channel of admission must fulfill the following conditions in order of preference.
  1. The candidate must be the Son or Daughter of an NRI / a PIO / or a foreign national, and must have obtained prescribed qualification from a School / College located abroad, or
  2. The candidate must have stayed abroad for at least five years during the preceding eight years from the year of admission, or
  3. The candidate must be the citizen of a foreign land holding a valid passport issued by a foreign country. These students shall pay prescribed fees in USD or equivalent.
  4. The candidate must have a duly valid Certificate indicating PIO status issued by a competent authority

    b) Any one of the optional subjects – Physics / Chemistry / Computer Science / Biology / Engineering Drawing with minimum 60% in aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent examination

2) Candidates for the B. Arch programme must also qualify in an Aptitude Test in Architecture to be conducted by the Institute at Mesra before their applications are further processed for admission. See later page for syllabus of the Aptitude Test

B. Pharm

Pass at Class 12 or equivalent examination, with

    a) Physics and Chemistry, and

    b) Mathematics / Biology / Biotechnology

with minimum 60% in aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12

BBA

Pass at Class 12 or equivalent examination in any stream with minimum 50% in aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12

BCA

Pass at Class 12 or equivalent examination with Mathematics / Business Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Information Practices as one of the subjects, with minimum 50% in aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12

B.Sc. (A & M)

Pass at Class 12 or equivalent examination in any stream with minimum 50% in aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12

BHMCT

Pass at Class 12 or equivalent examination in any stream with minimum 50% in aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12

 

Notes:
1) The maximum age limit for admission to all undergraduate programmes is 21 years as on 01.10.2007
2) Candidates appearing for final examinations of Class 12 or equivalent in 2007 can also apply. They must fax a copy of their final result immediately on publication or latest by 30 June 2007 for their applications to be processed.

 Aptitude Test for B. Arch:
Candidates who wish to join the B. Arch course must qualify in an Aptitude Test in Architecture before their applications are further processed for admission. They should contact the Head, Department of Architecture for the syllabus, date and other details of the Aptitude Test on

Notes:
1. Graduation in the (10+2+3 system) means that the degree must entail a minimum of three years of education after higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.

2. Candidates for postgraduate programmes who appearing for their qualifying examinations in 2007 may send their applications in advance, but a copy of their final result must be faxed immediately on publication or latest by 30 June 2007. If a candidate is unable to submit marksheet of qualifying examination by above date, provisional offer of admission may still be granted, provided he/she is otherwise found suitable for a programme. However, in such a case, proof of passing the qualifying examination with requisite marks must then be provided at the time of admission, failing which the provisional admission will be withdrawn / cancelled.

In case of applications to programmes at Extension Centers, please send the original completed application to the office of Dean Admissions at Mesra and a copy to the Director of the concerned Extension Centre.

Proficiency in English
Candidate must have adequate proficiency in written & spoken English to cope with the programmes as all instruction and examinations will be in English only.
